Why does my amp only work with headphones?

Why does my amp only work with headphones?

Can you plug headphones into a valve amp?

Headphones can plug into the interface to allow the mixing of your backing tracks and the sound of your guitar through your tube amp.

How do you play a tube amp through headphones?

Look into loadboxes. It’s a little piece of gear that you plug it into the cab output on your amp instead of a cab. Some of these loadboxes come with a headphone out, or more generally a line out. You then take the line out into a mixer or a soundcard input and use your headphone there.

Can I use headphone out as line out?

So can a headphone output be a workable substitute for a line level output in other situations? Sure, in a pinch it will usually work okay. Why am I not getting any sound from my amp?

If the amp drives that just fine, then you have a problem with your speakers or wiring. If you still don’t get any sound, then you could have a faulty amplifier, although you’ll want to check that it isn’t in “subordinate” mode and that you don’t have conflicting filters before you condemn the unit.

Why is my amp not making sound?

The speaker is completely blown. The output transformer is open or otherwise faulty. The speaker jack is not wired correctly. The speaker wiring has deteriorated, or the jacks have rusted to the extent that they can no longer make the proper connection.

Can I play electric guitar without amplifier?

Yes, electric guitars can be played without an amp. They will not, however, project as much sound if they’re not plugged in. As any musician might tell you, an amplifier is a crucial part of a setup that involves an electric guitar. So, learning how to play the electric guitar without an amp may be an option.

Is audio Out same as headphone jack?

Audio carries the signal and will let the receiving end control amplifying the volume, vs. headphone jack will adjust it as it is going out. You will get a better sound quality out of the audio out.
