International outreach workers are a unique group of social service professionals who are committed to reaching specific marginalized populations or persons in need.

What are examples of outreach programs?

Helping the Hungry and/or Homeless

  • Build a house with Habitat for Humanity.
  • Donate your old clothes.
  • Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
  • Donate old eyeglasses to an organization that collects that and distributes them to people in need.
  • Donate non-perishable food to a food bank.
  • Donate blankets to a homeless shelter.

What does an outreach program do?

An outreach program aims to help, uplift, and support those who are deprived of certain services and rights. It involves giving learning, social planning, health support, and other projects for their welfare. As usual, a program must be organized to use resources and aid to fulfill a goal.
