How many miles do you run in a Ragnar relay?
Each participant runs three times, with each leg ranging between 3-13 miles and varying in difficulty. Runners average about 17 total miles, with some of the shorter runner positions totaling 11 miles and some of the longer runner positions totaling 24 miles.

How does a Ragnar Trail work? In a Ragnar Trail Relay teams of 8 (or 4-member ultra teams) run relay-style on three different single track loops that start and finish at Ragnar Village. Teams run day and night until each member has completed all three trail loops.

In the case of the name, the consensus is that the event is named for the Norse legend, and that consensus is wrong. The Ragnar Relay Series was founded in 2004 by two friends just out of college at BYU, Tanner Bell and Dan Hill, along with Dan’s father Steve Hill.

How much does it cost to run a Ragnar Relay?
The Ragnar fee was $130, and each of us paid $160 for hotels, two van rentals, matching T-shirts and team petty cash. This amount could vary based on where the Ragnar is located, the type of van, etc.
