Yes, you can change your booking online; click on “Login / Manage booking” on the homepage. An amendment fee is applicable to route, date or time changes made to economy tickets. Cost of extra items and any difference in fare is payable for all ticket types.
Can you stay in your car on StenaLine?
Stena Line, one of the largest ferry operators in the world, runs six routes between Britain and Ireland. Regarding their current guidelines, Mr Loren confirms that their passengers are not legally allowed to stay in their vehicles while the ferry is in operation.
What time does Stena Line check in open?
Check-in for car passengers Monday – Saturday starts at 12:15 hrs. Check-in for car passengers Monday – Friday starts at 18:15 hrs. Our ferries must be sent to dry dock for planned maintenance annually.
When can you board Stena Line?
Boarding for vehicles normally commences 90 minutes prior to sailing. Further boarding will take place every 30 minutes until loading is complete.
How much does it cost to change a Stena Line Booking?
Amendment fee Economy. This fee is charged by Stena Line for changing a booking and applies only to Economy tickets. This fee is €35,- per leg. If you change your reservation by phone or e-mail a service fee of €7,50 in addition to the €35,- change fee will be charged.
Are Stena Line tickets refundable?
No refunds. Our Flexi fare, offers you an attractive fare with greater flexibility should your plans change. *Please note, any difference to your original fare and the cost of additional items added to the booking are still payable.

Irish Ferries recommends all passengers bring a passport with them. Irish and British citizens do not strictly require a passport to travel between the two countries, but some form of (photo) identification is however required. Government issued photographic ID cards.

- All explosives (including fireworks)
- Any sharp, pointed and blunt weapons.
- All knives and sword blades (with a blade over 7cm long)
- All open razors (such as cut-throat razors)
- Archery and martial arts equipment, spears, spearguns and catapults.
How early should you be for a ferry?

What ID do you need for Stena Line?
A driving licence, citizenship card or utility bill will usually suffice. A birth certificate will provide adequate proof of identity for your child to travel on our sailings. All customers travelling to and from the Netherlands on the Harwich – Hook of Holland route must have a valid passport.
Can you cancel Stena Line?
Yes you can easily amend or cancel your booking online at any time prior to your departure by clicking on the “Login or Manage Booking” link located at the top right of the site and following the instructions.
Can I fly to Ireland without a passport?
Irish and British citizens do not strictly require a passport to travel between the two countries, but some form of (photo) identification is however required. Passengers who arrive at our ports without current valid documentation may not be allowed to enter either Ireland or Britain.

Where is the Stena Line from Belfast City Centre?
Leave at Junction 1 of the M2 expressway (Fortwilliam roundabout) and follow signs easily to / from Belfast city centre and the rest of Ireland. The port is clearly signposted “Stena Line” on the expressways and roads in the vicinity to help you find the port without and hassle.
