What is RNAiMAX?

What is RNAiMAX?

Lipofectamine® RNAiMAX is a proprietary RNAi-specific cationic lipid formulation designed specifically for the delivery of siRNA and miRNA into all cell types.

What is Lipofectamine used for?

Lipofectamine or Lipofectamine 2000 is a common transfection reagent, produced and sold by Invitrogen, used in molecular and cellular biology. It is used to increase the transfection efficiency of RNA (including mRNA and siRNA) or plasmid DNA into in vitro cell cultures by lipofection.

How much RNAiMAX to use?

Mix Lipofectamine RNAiMAX gently before use, then add 1 µl Lipofectamine RNAiMAX to each well containing the diluted RNAi molecules. Mix gently and incubate for 10-20 minutes at room temperature.

What is forward and reverse transfection?

Forward and reverse transfection protocols each have their significant uses in research. The main protocol difference between forward and reverse transfection is whether or not the cells are plated the day before transfection (as in forward transfection) or seeded at the same time of the transfection.

How does Lipofectamine increase the transfection efficiency of RNA?

Lipofectamine. It is used to increase the transfection efficiency of RNA (including mRNA and siRNA) or plasmid DNA into in vitro cell cultures by lipofection. Lipofectamine contains lipid subunits that can form liposomes in an aqueous environment, which entrap the transfection payload, e.g. DNA plasmids.

How is Lipofectamine used in molecular biology?

It is used to increase the transfection efficiency of RNA (including mRNA and siRNA) or plasmid DNA into in vitro cell cultures by lipofection.

How is Lipofectamine rnaimax used for gene knockdown?

When it comes to achieving effective gene knockdown, Lipofectamine RNAiMAX Transfection Reagent easily outperforms other siRNA transfection reagents. High knockdown levels of target genes can be achieved with as little as 1 nM siRNA (Figure 1).

How much siRNA is needed for Lipofectamine rnaimax?

High knockdown levels of target genes can be achieved with as little as 1 nM siRNA (Figure 1). The Lipofectamine RNAiMAX protocol recommends using 10 nM siRNA as a starting point to maximize knockdown levels. Figure 1. Superior knockdown with Lipofectamine RNAiMAX Transfection Reagent compared to competing siRNA transfection reagents.
