What is CD4047?

What is CD4047?

CD4047 is a low power IC capable of operating in either in astable or monostable mode. It works by charging a capacitor (C2) through a resistor (RV1) as in every astable multivibrators. Variable resistor (RV1) is provided for adjusting the output frequency to exact 50Hz.

What is the use of IC 4047?

The IC can be used for generating clock pulse, sine wave, square wave and many others. It can also be used in application of timing delay circuits, frequency multiplier and frequency divider. To generate an envelope signal from the original signal this IC is helpful.

What is free running multivibrator?

In electronic circuits, astable multivibrators are also known as Free-running Multivibrator as they do not require any additional inputs or external assistance to oscillate. The basic transistor circuit for an Astable Multivibrator produces a square wave output from a pair of grounded emitter cross-coupled transistors.

How does a monostable multivibrator work?

A monostable multivibrator, also called a one shot or a monoflop, is a sequential logic electronic circuit that generates an output pulse. When triggered, a pulse of pre-defined duration is produced. The circuit then returns to its stable state and produces no more output until triggered again.

What is inverter circuit?

A power inverter, or inverter, is a power electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry.

What is SG3524 IC?

SG3524 is an integrated switching regulator circuit that has all essential circuitry required for making a switching regulator in single ended or push-pull mode. SG3524 forms the heart of this PWM inverter circuit which can correct its output voltage against the variations in the output load.

How does IC 4017 work?

IC 4017 is a digital counter plus decoder circuit. The clock pulses generated at the output of the IC 555 timer (PIN-3) are given as an input to IC 4017 through PIN-14. After the next clock pulse, PIN-2 of IC 4017 is HIGH, which means that LED-2 will glow and all the other LEDs can be turned OFF.

How does a multivibrator circuit work?

It functions as a relaxation oscillator. Monostable multivibrator, in which one of the states is stable, but the other state is unstable (transient). A trigger pulse causes the circuit to enter the unstable state. After entering the unstable state, the circuit will return to the stable state after a set time.

Why IC 555 is called Timer?

The 555 Timers name comes from the fact that there are three 5kΩ resistors connected together internally producing a voltage divider network between the supply voltage at pin 8 and ground at pin 1.

What is IC 555 timer used for?

The 555 timer IC is an integrated circuit (chip) used in a variety of timer, delay, pulse generation, and oscillator applications. Derivatives provide two (556) or four (558) timing circuits in one package. It was commercialized in 1972 by Signetics.

What is working principle of inverter?

Inverters convert low frequency main AC power to higher frequency for use in induction heating. To do this, AC power is first rectified to provide DC power. The inverter then changes the DC power to high frequency AC power.

What is the voltage range of a cd4047 multivibrator?

The CD4047 IC is a low power CMOS logic based multivibrator circuit IC. It can operate either in the monostable or astable mode. Furthermore, this IC is easy to configure for both modes and requires few external components to operate. It has a voltage range of 3V-15V but works best at 5V.

How to calculate output frequency of a cd4047?

The astable and ~astable inputs of CD4047 enable this mode of operation. The astable input connects with a high level. we can do it by applying low level on input ~astable, the IC operates in an astable mode. The output frequency can be calculated through timing components and is given by the following equation:

What are the uses of the cd4047 IC?

The CD4047 is another one of those Integrated Circuits (ICs) that many makers won’t even realise they could benefit from. For this month’s Classroom, we take a look at what it does and how it is implemented. We won’t go into uses too heavily. Like the CD4049 and CD4050 in our last issue, the uses are very broad and situation-specific.

What are the parts of a cd4047 inverter?

The main part is CD4047 (or IC 4047 Series) and IC-LM358 and Transistor 2SC1061 and 2N3055. The transformer is 10V-CT-10V, Primary : 220V Secondary. and current 3A up for power output than 100W.
