This is a great place too visit, beautiful home, amazing historic castle and lovely gardens. The castle keep is a bit tricky to climb too, very steep, narrow steps but well worth the effort. The staff were all friendly and informative. You could choose how much you wanted to too see and payed accordingly.

Allow at least 2 hours for the castle and more for gardens as well but be aware that the castle itself doesn’t open till midday but grounds including garden open at 10am. over a year ago. Allow 2 hours, plus an hour each way travel time from Southampton.
