Can you walk into Morton Arboretum?
Hiking at The Morton Arboretum Hike 16 miles of well-tended, mulched, pedestrian-only trails that let you wander safely among scenic vistas, deep woods, prairies, and wetlands. Walk at a leisurely pace on a paved path around Meadow Lake. Explore the various trails that take you through the East Side and West Side.
Can you bring food to Morton Arboretum?
Picnicking and facilities. The Children’s Garden picnic area is open to all guests unless reserved for a special program or event. Carryout lunches, boxed water, and other beverages are available at the Ginkgo Café in the Visitor Center. You may also bring your own food.
What should I wear to the Arboretum?
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. The Arboretum is 66 acres, including the 8-acre Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden. Don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. Costumes are encouraged for children ages 12 and under or as a family unit with a unified theme.
Does Morton Arboretum have reciprocity with Chicago Botanic Garden?
The Morton Arboretum allows two people per car with valid Chicago Botanic Garden membership card.
Do you have to pay for the Morton Arboretum?
The Morton Arboretum offers complimentary admission through the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program (RAP). Members of reciprocal gardens are eligible for up to two free general admission tickets for each visit.
