All our models are designed in Denmark and manufactured at our own factory in Romania. We buy the skins from a European tannery, which meets the strict environmental requirements of the EU.

Do you wear socks with Glerups?

Wool is not only sweat-absorbent, but also breathable, naturally! Just be aware that wool works best on bare skin, which is why we recommend using your slippers with no socks. Bare feet are always best for glerups!

Can you wear Glerups outside?

The leather sole is standard, but all three designs can be had with an excellent natural rubber sole (add $40 for the shoes, $30 for the boot), making them a bit more outdoors- and airport-appropriate. And Glerups also makes slippers, shoes, and boots for kids and babies. Because you’re never too young to fall in love.

When did nanny Glerup make her first pair of slippers?

In 1993, Danish mother Nanny Glerup hand-crafted a pair of slippers using the natural wool from her own Gotland sheep. So well were the slippers loved by family and friends, that Nanny’s hobby soon became a small-scale production – two pairs a day!
