You retain all intellectual property rights in and to any User Content you post, upload or otherwise make available through the Services, including the copyright in and to your photos and videos. SmugMug does not claim any ownership, right, title or interest in and to your User Content.

Is Flickr secure?

Flickr ostensibly gives users control over who is allowed to view their images by flagging them as either “public” or “private.” Images that are marked as private are by default visible only to the person who uploads them, although they may choose to make them available to family and friends.

Does Flickr sell your data?

Flickr does not “sell” and has not “sold” its personal information in the way most people understood those words before the CCPA was passed. We don’t sell copies of our user lists like a data broker would, for example.

Is Flickr free of copyright?

No photos on flickr (except maybe those in Commons) are copyright-free. At best there are those that are licensed CC-BY.

What happens if I change my privacy settings on Flickr?

You can also share a Guest Pass to any photo or album that allows people to see your content without signing in to a Flickr account. Please note, changing your photos to a stricter privacy level will permanently alter the links to your photos and remove all faves — this cannot be undone.

How can I hide my personal information on Flickr?

Now go back to the main account page and click on the personal information tab. Scroll back down to the “your profile” heading and click on the “edit who can see what” link.

How can I change the privacy settings on my photos?

You can easily change the privacy settings for photos and videos you’ve previously uploaded. Click on one of your photos or videos to open it. Below the content, find the “Additional info” section. Beside “Viewing this photo,” select your desired privacy setting. The new settings will automatically be applied and saved.
