How do I check the status of my new school application?

Log in to your Admission Hub to check the status of your application materials. Applications become complete and ready for review once all required items have been received by the Office of Admission. Allow at least ten days from the date you submitted your application for the application materials checklist to appear.

Can I still apply to The New School?

We are no longer accepting applications for summer 2021. The 2022 IFP sites will be selected by September 13 and applications for summer 2022 will open on October 1.

Does The New School require an essay?

We pay close attention to responses to the New School essay prompt as well as the Common Application essay (submission of which is not required but is strongly recommended). We aim to learn about your writing skills as well as your interest in The New School and Lang in particular.

Application Deadlines Spring term admission is not offered for Parsons undergraduate programs. Applications received after these deadlines will be reviewed if space is still available in our program.

What is the Parsons challenge this year?

The Parsons Challenge helps the Admission Committee understand how a prospective student develops ideas, visually communicates those ideas, and defends the work in writing. Create a new visual work inspired by the theme within a piece submitted in your portfolio.

Parsons admissions is somewhat selective with an acceptance rate of 63%. Students that get into Parsons have an average ACT score between 21-26.
