The day started with a ceremony in the impressive Marble Hall, which had been decorated for Christmas. We love a stylish winter wedding – easy on the tinsel! However, at Holkham we are able to accommodate every aspect of the wedding inside; your civil ceremony, wedding reception and dancing.

Is Holkham Hall National Trust?

Firstly we do need to clarify that we are not a National Trust property – Holkham Hall is privately owned and is a Historic Houses property, members of which do get free entry.

William Kent (1685-1748) was a great friend of Thomas Coke, the builder of Holkham Hall and founder of the collections. The two men met in Rome while Thomas was on his Grand Tour, and Kent subsequently created designs for both the hall and the surrounding park.
