Is the Solway Firth Tidal?

The Solway Firth is a macrotidal estuary with semi-diurnal tides. Under certain conditions a tidal bore can form, upstream of Annan, with a speed of around 6 knots and a height in extreme conditions of 1.5m (ABP, 1991).
