Detroit in rear 8.8 94′ Explorer with 35″ tires going on 15 years with lots of use and no issues. I know its not a D44, but the Detroit’s are very reliable. My wheelin’ buddy has a Detroit in his TJ D44 rear with 35′ tires, no issues for about ten years and hardly any maintenance.
