Where do freshmen live at Tufts?
Tufts students live in one of ten residence halls on the Medford/Somerville campus. The vast majority of students are in first-year-only halls, where they are supported by a First-Year Advisor. Most students live in doubles (and you’ll have the chance to indicate your preferences later in the summer).

First-Year students are required to live on for the equivalent of four semesters in University sponsored housing. Transfer students coming in as the equivalent of a sophomore student are required and guaranteed to live on-campus for their full first year at Tufts.
Are Tufts dorms nice?
No, but they are comfortable and well kept. We have the most amazing facilities staff keeping our buildings in good shape everyday. Over every summer at least one dorm is renovated with each one being renovated every ten years. On a related note, have no fear of communal bathrooms, they’re nicer than you think!
