Can you sled at Government Camp?

Fortunately, Timberline does allow sledding and tubing at Summit Ski Area, which they purchased last year. Summit is just a bit further down the mountain with access located at the eastern edge of Government Camp. The entrance is located 2.5 miles east of Timberline Road, so it’s pretty close to other options.

Where can I sled free Mount Hood?

Hood Meadows, the White River Sno-Park is great for easy, fun and free sledding on Mount Hood with little ones. The closest hill is just a five-minute walk up the snowy road from the parking lot; bigger and better hills are just a little farther along.

Can you sled at Timberline?

There is no sledding allowed up at Timberline. Not near the lodge, not near our parking lots, and certainly not on the sides of our access road. Guests can tube at Timberline’s sister ski hill, Summit Ski Area, located in nearby Government Camp.

Is there a sledding hill on Mount Hood?

Snow Bunny — It used to be that you had to use tubes provided by Summit at this sledding hill east of Government Camp, but this year, it’s different. The Forest Service notes on its site that there are no fees here from November 2018 to May 2019 and personal sledding devices are permitted.
