What is wellhead desander?
What is wellhead desander?
The Wellhead Desander by eProcess is a fit-for-purpose multiphase solid-fluid cyclone designed to treat full wellstream flow. The Wellhead Desander is used for ongoing sand production in process facilities or for temporrary solids productions during well testing and clean-up.
How does Desander work?
SDI’s Desander works by changing the flow parameters, reducing the flow velocities to the point where the sand drops out while gas and fluids are carried through. This process involves no bags, filters, screens and virtually no pressure drop. Specialized Desanders function effectively over a broad range of flowrates.
What is a Desander in oil and gas?
1. n. [Drilling] A hydrocyclone device that removes large drill solids from the whole mud system. The desander should be located downstream of the shale shakers and degassers, but before the desilters or mud cleaners.
How does a desander Cyclone work?
The product stream enters the vessel at an angle such that the flow path creates a circular pattern around the inside of the hydrocyclone. The narrowing shape of the cyclone causes the water to swirl around the cyclone at high speed. A typical waste water desander will remove particles with a mean of up to 10 microns.
What is desander and Desilter?
The desander removes the majority of the solids down to the 75 μm size range and prevents the desilter from being overloaded. The desilter removes the majority of solids down to around the 15 μm range, in an unweighted drilling fluid.
What is the function of degasser?
A degasser is a device used in drilling to remove gasses from drilling fluid which could otherwise form bubbles.
What is hydrocyclone used for?
A hydrocyclone is a high-throughput gravity separation device used for separating slurry particles based on particle weight. For example, particles of similar size but different specific gravity, or particles of different size but identical specific gravity.
What is the meaning of Desanding?
: to remove sand from.
How many types of degasser are there?
*2: There are three types of Degassing Units – (1) models with vacuum pumps that rotate at a constant rpm, (2) models with vacuum pumps that shut off when the vacuum level inside the vacuum chamber reaches a certain level, then automatically restart when the vacuum level decreases again, and (3) models with vacuum …
How does a vacuum degasser work?
Vacuum degasser uses vacuum to release free and dissolved gas in water, and then discharge them through the automatic exhaust valve system. Remove gas in the system and prevent the air resistance, to ensure the system is stable and reliable during the normal operation.
What is cut size hydrocyclone?
The cut-size, indicated as 50, is defined as the size of the particle in the Particle Size Distribution (PSD) that has a 50% probability of reporting to either the underflow or the overflow of the hydrocyclone (Bradley, 1965).
How many types of hydrocyclone are there?
There are four main types of hydrocyclone used in mineral processing, include XCI hydrocyclone, XCII hydrocyclone, XCIII hydrocyclone and XCIV hydrocyclone, each of them has its own features.
