Wilmot Mountain historically has opened anywhere from late November to Early December. We have historically closed mid March. However, every season is different based on the weather.

Wilmot started making their own snow in 1952 using Joe Tropiano snow machines, basically a lawn watering device with heaters to prevent freezing. Today they use a combination of older and new, high-tech snow making equipment. Wilmot makes snow whenever the temperature drops low enough, even during hours of operation.

Where is the tubing hill at Wilmot Mountain?

The activity requires no equipment, as Wilmot provides tubes for all riders. The tubing hill is located a half-mile south of the ski mountain, 11931 Fox River Road, and features its own lodge, offering a warm place to enjoy a snack or drink, socialize and watch the action from above.

How tall do you have to be to snow tub at Wilmot Mountain?

Snow tubing is available Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Individuals must be 42 inches or taller to tube at Wilmot.
