Is openBVE free?

openBVE is an independently developed open-source train simulator. Although the name and logo were originally based on BVE Trainsim, openBVE is free and open-source software developed and written from scratch.

Who created openBVE?

This sim was created in 1997 by two Polish college students, Aleksander Madej & Robert Kowalski. One of the original aims of Michelle, the original developer of OpenBVE was to move this simulator beyond its roots, and to support content from a variety of other simulations.

When did the openBVE 3 line come out?

OpenBVE Connection has downloads that are shared with BVEStation and the official OpenBVE.org website. Thanks to Junior Lewis, Miles Blount and SimCentral (I forgot his username), the 3 line was released in December of 2019. The line has been uploaded to the OBC site. It’s the same version as the original.
