Can you take food into Kew Gardens?
You are welcome to take your own food and drink into Kew Gardens. You can take anything from a bottle of water up to a full 3-hour picnic. If you are travelling from London Waterloo, there are lots of options in the station to buy food and drink.
How long does it take to go around Kew Gardens?
It is suggested that most people take around three hours to explore the whole of the length of the Gardens. (It is about one mile across and takes about 40 minutes to walk across.) We usually stay the whole day and still never see everything. If you have time, spend the whole day at Kew.
Are you allowed to have a picnic in Kew Gardens?
Kew Gardens is the perfect place for picnics – please stick to grassy areas and don’t bring barbecues or picnic furniture. No commercial activities may be undertaken in the Gardens except as part of Kew authorised events. Please place all rubbish in the bins provided or take it home with you.

The Victoria Gate is the closest entrance to the Kew Gardens underground station, and is located relatively close to the Palm House and the Princess of Wales Conservatory. Free daily guided tours start from Victoria Gate, and the nearby Victoria Plaza has a café, lockers and toilet facilities as well.

The gardens are best to visit during late August and beginning of September. My favourite season is Autumn because I am a huge fan of the red and yellow foliage. This is the best time to visit the Arboretum. No matter when you decide to visit, Kew has always something going on, prepared for each season.

Yes, you may bring your own picnic into the concert arena. Please do not bring tables but, as this is a picnic concert, it is fine to bring blankets and folding chairs. You are allowed to bring your own alcohol into Kew the Music. You are allowed to bring glass bottles onto site.
