Do CRB checks show foreign convictions?

Overview. An employer may request a DBS check as part of their recruitment process (previously known as CRB checks). DBS is unable to access criminal records held overseas, so a DBS check may not provide a complete view of an applicant’s criminal record, if they have lived outside of the UK.

Do allegations show on CRB?

Allegations are not disclosed on basic or standard DBS certificates. An allegation or pending matter may be disclosed on an enhanced DBS certificate at the discretion of the police.

How many years does a CRB check go back?

There is no limit to how far back an enhanced or standard check can go. For basic checks, only unspent convictions will be listed on a certificate.
