What does law Access do?
LawAccess NSW is a free government telephone service that provides legal information, referrals and in some cases, advice for people who have a legal problem in NSW. If you need help with a legal problem, LawAccess NSW can: give you legal information over the telephone.
Does everyone have access to legal representation in Australia?
Unlike the USA, there is no right to free legal representation in Australia. We must either pay a lawyer to represent us, qualify for assistance such as Legal Aid or remain unrepresented. In fact, court cases have confirmed that people charged with criminal offences are not entitled to state-funded represented.
