What is an airmar Triducer?
What is an airmar Triducer?
The DST800 is a Smart™ TRIDUCER® Multisensor that offers depth, speed, and temperature functions in one compact thru-hull fitting. The wide, port-starboard, fan-shaped beam is able to find the bottom even when installed on a high-deadrise hull or a heeling sailboat.
Where are airmar transducers made?
Milford, New Hampshire
Founded in 1982 by Stephen Boucher, Airmar is a family owned and operated manufacturing company in Milford, New Hampshire. With over 30 years of experience, Airmar has become synonymous with world-class acoustic sensing technology. Our first product introduction was a transom mounted transducer for fish-finders.
What is airmar Xsonic?
Product details. The SS164 is a stainless steel, thru-hull broadband transducer, ideal for smaller sportfishing and commercial vessels up to 25ft in length, fishing in depths of less than 3000ft.
How do I identify a transducer?
Sometimes an angler needs to identify what model or type of transducer is plugged into their unit. Simply look at the transducer cable, about an inch from the connector. A silver tag is attached to the cable with the transducer model printed on it. For example, see the HST-WSBL transducer in the first image below.
Do airmar transducers go bad?
OK- Airmar says transducers may last 10-20 years.
How deep can a 1kW transducer read?
Simrad now uses 1kW transducers with ceramic elements on some models, which it claims can be used in waters up to 1800 metres deep. Furuno has a wide range of transducers up to 3kW and has recently catered to the small trailer boat angler with the introduction of the FCV-585 and 620 models.
What is chirp sonar?
CHIRP sonar is a powerful bottom-tracking and fish-finding tool. By continuously sweeping through a range of frequencies, CHIRP exceeds many common limitations of single-frequency broadband sonar.
What’s a transducer do?
Essentially a transducer is an electronic device which converts energy from one form to another. Some examples you may be familiar with include microphones and loudspeakers. There are two different types of transducer an input transducer which is a sensor and an output transducer which is an actuator.
How do I identify my Humminbird transducer?
the model number for the transducers are on the cable running from the transducer to the unit. should be in a white ink. some or most might be worn off but if you’re lucky you might be able to find one that is legible.
Can I use my old transducer?
There is often a good chance that your transducer is fine and it’s only the display that has died. Despite the transducer being old there is a chance it may be the same frequency as the new depth sounder. If it’s a 200Khz transducer it will likely work with Raymarine and some others that are 200Khz.
How do you know when a transducer is bad?
Here are the most common types of incorrect display readings that are caused by transducer errors:
- Display shows surface reading, but no bottom reading.
- Display shows wrong depth reading.
- Display shows erratic readings (especially when the boat speeds up)
