Can I visit Peak District now?

Travel. There are no general restrictions on travel to the national park from within the UK after 19 July, but we continue to ask visitors to consider the following to allow their visit and that of others to be safe and enjoyable: walk or cycle where possible to minimise car use within the Peak District.

Is Peak District national park free?

A minimum charge applies. All teachers and accompanying adults are free.

Is Bakewell open to visitors?

Bakewell visitor centre is open 9.30am to 5pm every day. Please note: the visitor centre will be closed on Thurs 24th June 2021.

When is Peak District national park open for business?

Our business office hours are from 8.45am to 5pm Monday to Friday, except for bank holidays when we are shut and Christmas Eve when we shut at 3pm. The office may also shut in exceptional circumstances, such as during extreme weather. For tourist information please view our visitor centres opening times.
