If you have not heard of us, we are the global membership qualifying body for Architectural Technology. We exist as a not-for-profit organisation and we lead and promote the discipline of architectural technology, setting and maintaining standards for education, practice and professionalism.
How many members are in the CIAT?

Membership. CIAT has over 9,500 members worldwide and aims to represent all those studying and working within the architectural technology discipline.
What is Aciob qualification?
Associate membership (ACIOB) was often awarded to those in a management position for a couple of years with an academic qualification comparable to a HNC or other Level 4 qualification.
Is architectural technologist a protected title?
The title ‘Chartered Architectural Technologist’ is a title protected within the Institute’s Royal Charter, approval of which was Granted by The Privy Council. This means that only Chartered Members of CIAT can use it.
How can I become a member of the CIAT?
There are opportunities to be involved with the Institute at national level by joining a Committee or Taskforce as well as standing for election in an honorary capacity, as part of the Institute’s Executive Board and Council. What do CIAT members do for professional development?
Each Region/Centre has a Committee which organises Continual Professional Development (CPD) events and other networking opportunities. Members and affiliates are encouraged to attend these events and play an active part within their Region/Centre.

CIAT offers hands-on training in conjunction with competitive academic programs to deliver a comprehensive education in IT, software development, Microsoft platforms, and media arts.
