What does Futaba Fasst mean?
FASST is Futaba’s premier spread spectrum technology. The “est” is simply with the added enhancement of being telemetry capable. FHSS is used in the lower price systems. It is a high speed frequency hopping system. Futaba wanted to offer a lower cost system but could not so it using FASST technology.
What is the difference between Futaba Fasst and FHSS?
What’s the difference between the two receivers? FHSS is a less expensive and lower end frequency hoping technology. Its the same as used in FrSky/Hitec/Graupner and other systems. FASST is higher end, multiple frequency hoping and advanced technologies, better range, etc.
What is the range of a 2.4 GHz RC transmitter?
It has 500 mW power and -115 dBm sensitivity, dual band 866 – 960 MHz, long range RC transmitter, Bluetooth, GPS, video receiver and more….Technical Specifications.
Maximum RC and Telemetry range | 180 Km |
---|---|
Maximum range | 30 Km (Depending on antenna used) |
Frequency | 2.4 GHz |

Is FHSS compatible with Futaba Fasst?
Futaba has 2 incompatible 2.4 systems, FASST and FHSS. Can someone explain the difference other than the price of the receivers? FASST has an excellent reputation for solid links and reliability.
What is the difference between T-FHSS and S FHSS?
The one key difference between S-FHSS and T-FHSS the PWM frequency between the receiver and servo. Assuming you are running a digital servo so the response speed at the transmitter is set to “HI”, for S-FHSS the PWM refresh speed is 147Hz (6.8ms) and T-FHSS is 333Hz (3.0ms).
Will Futaba work with Spektrum?
Futaba Receivers operate on a different protocol than Spektrum Transmitters. They will not work together. Spektrum radios started with DSM, then upgraded to DSM 2 and now are DSMX protocol.
Which is better FHSS or DSSS?
DSSS, in contrast, spreads the signal across a wider bandwidth than FHSS, creating a lower power density across the spectrum. Because FHSS allows more channels in the same frequency band, FHSS systems can support a greater aggregate bandwidth for coverage.
HOW FAR CAN 2.4 GHz transmitter work?
A frequently asked question about the WirelessHART 2.4GHz radio network is “How far can these devices transmit?” Depending on local units of measurement, the rule of thumb distance for the standard antenna is 225 meters or 750 feet.
