What is Jablite insulation used for?
What is Jablite insulation used for?
What Exactly Is Jablite Insulation? Jablite is a UK producer of moulded expanded polystrene (EPS) that is used in areas of civil engineering and for residential and commerical insulation. Jablite insulation is better known to the mass market as rigid polystrene boards.
Is Jablite waterproof?
Is Jablite Waterproof? Yes, not only is Jablite insulation board resistant to moisture, it’s classed as flood proof.
Can you use Jablite in walls?
It is compatible with all external wall systems and can be bonded or mechanically fixed to the wall. Jablite supplies external wall insulation in three different Thermal Conductivity Performance levels: – 0.30, 0.032 and 0.038 W/mK to meet your specified project requirements.
Can Jablite be used under concrete?
Jabfloor can be used in temperatures up to 80°C. It is therefore suitable for use with underfloor heating systems. Jabfloor Insulation has been assessed and approved by the British Board of Agrément as Jablite Floor Insulation for use over slab with a screed finish in ground bearing floors.
Is kingspan better than polystyrene?
Celotex, Kingspan etc will have a higher U value than normal polystyrene so you would have to increase the thickness of the poly to achieve what Celotex would give you. Also, Celotex etc. is denser than poly and for a floor, you need something firm.
Can I use polystyrene for floor insulation?
EPS sheets, fully known as expanded polystyrene sheets, are one of the best floor insulation materials. They are easy to install and they have a high insulation value. Insulation boards have to be fixed on an even ground and they are pressure-resistant, so the floor won’t crack or collapse.
Which is better Celotex or polystyrene?
polystyrene is cheaper than celotex. R value or 50mm polystyrene is 1.25. R value of 50mm Celotex is 2.25. It has to be noted that over 7-10 years Celotex will drop in R-value to match the polystyrene as polystyrene will not drop.
Can you render on Jablite?
Jablite EWI is manufactured from expanded polystyrene (EPS) and can be bonded or mechanically fixed to an external wall. It can be used in conjunction with a variety of render and cladding systems including timber or plastic weatherboarding, tile hanging and reinforced-render systems.
Is Jablite flammable?
Jablite EPS 100 is very versatile and can be used in a number of different applications, including roofs, walls and floors, it is however not applicable as a part of EWI systems nor it can be used in flammable conditions.
What is the best insulation for under a concrete slab?
In addition to its lower moisture absorption and better long-term thermal performance, EPS has the highest R-value per dollar among rigid insulations. As such, it provides a cost-effective way to insulate building foundations, and under slabs.
Can I use polystyrene under concrete?
Polystyrene is fine but it HAS to be flooring grade, suitable for under screed. You can’t just use any old polystyrene!
Is kingspan expensive?
Kingspan are producers of Kooltherm K5, another type of insulation we love. The downside of Kingspan K5 is that it’s a lot more expensive than alternatives like EPS.
What can I use Jablite insulation board for?
For insulating pitched roofs and floors, Jablite insulation board is a fantastic option for domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
How long does it take for plasterboard to combust?
Choose from fire resistant plasterboard that is non-combustible, due to the addition of glass fibre and other additives, or alternatively opt for a fire resistant plasterboard that resists fire for 240 minutes before combusting.
What should the you value be for Jablite?
The required ‘U’ value for new insulated buildings or for a refurbishment project is below 0.30 W/m²K. Typically Jablite External Insulation specified to a thickness 110 mm or 120 mm will achieve the required u-value of 0.30 W/m²K as part of an insulated render system on a solid wall.
Where does Jablite get its EPs waste from?
Jablite standard products use between 0% and 60% recycled material depending on the grade, type of product and recycled material availability. The recycled material is from off site sources e.g. clean offcuts from building sites or from the manufacturing process – 100% of Jablite’s manufacturing EPS waste goes back into the manufacturing process.
