What kind of Turbo do I need for my 4d33?

The turbo at the time that was recommended for it was a TDO6SL2-20g (turbine AR 8cm) that works well at road speed but not when offroad as boost comes in to late. Now this has been running for a while. Let me go into it a bit more.

Is the Mitsubishi 4d34 engine the same as the 4bd2?

It would be nice if the engine blocks had the same bolt pattern. If so, maybe the Isuzupartswapper kit might work on the Mitsubishi. Would like to put an H55 behind it. The turbo looks almost identical to the T25 that’s on the 4BD2. But aside from that it looks like nothing will interchange. Mitsubishi diesels don’t seem to have much of a fan club.

Is there throttle position sensor on Mitsubishi 4d34?

Just a guess but it looks similar to the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) used on the Zexel inline pump on the Nissan TD4.2. Just had a look at my FSM but didn’t see any TPS on the pump diagrams for the Inline Zexel or the VE.

What did glow plugs on Mitsubishi 4d34 mean?

Glow plugs concerned me because they were covered in oil, but figured it could have been rolled around and possibly up side down. It fired up fairly easily and ran great. The Isuzu looked like it hadn’t run in years. Turbo was frozen, leaves and dirt in every opening of the engine, dirt an gritty oil in the engine.
