What is Cardas wire?
What is Cardas wire?
Cardas litz conductors use ultra-pure copper, in a Golden Ratio scaled, multi-stranded arrangement. Each individual strand is coated in an insulating enamel. Litz conductors must be tinned before they can be soldered to a circuit board or a connector.
What is litz speaker cable?
The Aurealis Litz speaker cables use a special construction with multiple fine strands of silver Litz wrapped around an individually insulated core of copper Litz. This unique silver / copper spiral construction of results in a wonderful listening experience. The Litz 201 – is recommended for amplifiers up to 100 watts.
What kind of solder to use on Cardas Litz?
Twist a little piece of unenamled wire around the litz such as a resistor lead and solder normally using using some rosin flux (such as Kester sp88). Heat the bare copper wire you have wound around the litz and add solder and rosin flux until you see the litz suck up the solder.
Can a Litz wire be soldered to a circuit board?
Litz conductors must be tinned before they can be soldered to a circuit board or a connector. At Cardas Audio, we remove the outer jacket with hot tweezers, dip the wire in Cardas Rosin Flux Soldering Paste, and then hold it in a solder pot for several seconds, until the end is tinned. Please watch the video on this page for instructions.

What kind of wire does a Cardas chassis use?
Cardas chassis wire uses the same ultra pure copper, Golden Ratio stranded litz wire found in all Cardas cables. All Cardas chassis wires use multi-stranded copper in a colored jacket. NOTE: Cardas manufactures Litz conductors. These conductors have an enamel coating on each strand that must be removed.
