By public transport. From London, you can take a train to Canterbury or Westgate-on-Sea and then change to the bus called 8A breeze. This bus will take you all the way to Botany Bay. Another option is to take a train to Ramsgate or Broadstairs and then change to the bus called the Loop.

We visited on a beautiful day in school holidays and it was very busy with families setting up gazebos, full picnics etc. you could walk further along to a quieter section if you don’t have kids to drag along, but pretty crowded by the conveniences.

Which is the most sandy of the Broadstairs bays?
Three of the bays have 2017 Blue Flag status: Botany Bay, Joss Bay and Stone Bay. The most northerly of the Broadstairs bays and probably the least commercialised with a long soft sandy beach, white chalk cliffs, individual chalk stacks and arches. When the tide flows out you get one of the best chalk reefs on the British coast.
