Is PSO2 available in Asia?

Phantasy Star Online 2 Global once planned to be playable worldwide a few years back, but yet to come to fruition until now. PSO2 also once available in the Southeast Asia region.

Does PSO2 have region lock?

The regular pso2 is region locked in several places in Europe and other places around the world, any information on what they’ll do with New Genesis ? Nothing yet. I assume the regions PSO2 is in now (which is explained in our FAQ) won’t change.

PSO2:NGS will launch after the end of maintenance on June 9, 2021 (Wed). PSO2’s server will however remain active and the two games will co-exist. Existing PSO2 players can even transfer their characters to New Genesis and back again. Cross-platform play between PC and Xbox is also supported.

Is the Southeast Asia version of Phantasy Star Online shut down?

The introduction of the Southeast Asia localized version was a bit of a hope spot for those still hoping for a localized release, but that was a couple of years ago now. Also, that version of the game is being shuttered as of May 26th, so that’s not exactly a good sign for people hoping for an eventual export.

Celebrating PSO’s 20th anniversary, PSO2: NGS is the latest entry in the series, updating PSO2’s game system and graphics engine. We’re planning to release this update on a global scale, including Japan and North America.
