What happened to FamilySearch?
The new.FamilySearch.org website was recently closed down because, among other things, it no longer allowed us to provide the best possible service and data resources to our users. The few users who were still using the new.FamilySearch.org site were redirected to the current FamilySearch Family Tree website.
What are IGI files?
Image file used by Indigo Renderer, an application that enables users to generate photorealistic images; stores all the information about a 3D scene render in progress. The IGI file allows you to resume rendering a scene that was previously not completed.

To search the International Genealogical Index ( IGI) entries, select the International Genealogical Index (IGI) collection from the list of historical record collections. From the collection page you may choose to search either community indexed entries or community contributed entries.
